By joining the Division of Human Resources Management, Training and Development Branch as a Safety Coordinator in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by equipping employees with safety knowledge and skills. EEC is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees through education, engagement and continuous improvement.
This is an Interim position and the selected candidate will work on a part time schedule and does have the potential to earn compensatory time. Interim positions are time-limited and cannot exceed 9-months. An interim employee is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee.
Holders of the Safety Coordinator position will complete tasks such as:
Incumbent of this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Be able to make oral presentations and conduct training sessions for small to large groups. In-state travel is required. Maintain a valid driver's license and will be required to drive a licensed vehicle. Be able to bend, stoop, crawl and/or climb. Be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in safety operations or inspection, incident management, or emergency services.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, safety operations and/or inspection, incident management, or emergency services experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbent must be able to make oral presentations and conduct training sessions for small to large groups. Travel may be required.

- Conduct safety related training sessions to EEC employees including CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid to EEC staff across the Commonwealth.
- Reports safety and/or health violations and investigative results to appropriate staff.
- Review reports and other documentation for compliance with agency policy and procedure. Respond to problematic inquires from staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to deliver engaging and effective training sessions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Reliable team player.
- Ability to create productive working relationships among agency staff.
- CPR and safety training preferred.
