Glasgow State Nursing Facility (GSNF) may be the place for you. We are a state-of-the-art 100-bed long-term care nursing facility for individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities. We are seeking a Recreation Aide to join our team in caring and improving the daily lives of our residents.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Organizes and conducts recreational activities for residents at Glasgow State Nursing Facility, a 100-bed long-term care facility; and performs other duties as required.
• Conducts and assists in large and small group activities, such as parties, dances, games, sports, and special events. Performs one-on-one activities with residents. Adheres to federal and state regulatory guidelines. Supervises the use of activity equipment and supplies.
• Conducts and/or assists in community functions such as concerts, plays, sporting events, and picnics. Transports residents to community outings and medical appointments. Collaborates with social services and nursing departments on a daily basis.
• Documents and prepares reports of activities and maintains daily attendance and progress notes. Enters specific resident activity information into an internal database.
• Attends training sessions and participates on assigned committees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Typically works in an institutional, hospital facility, or summer camp facility. Typically work is of a moderate physical nature and often in an outdoor setting conducting recreational activities usually with student campers, long-term care residents, hospital patients, or inmates.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
