By joining the Division of Abandoned Mine Lands, Collaborative Projects Branch, Community Projects Section as a Grants Administrator in Perry county, you will have the opportunity to serve as an administrator for the Collaborative Projects Branch/Community Projects Section.

Holders of the Grants Administrator position will complete tasks such as:

  • Serving as a project lead over AMLER grants and providing technical assistance to grant applicants.
  • Reviewing and processing invoices from AMLER subrecipients for accuracy.
  • Attending public meetings and hearings with officials, state and local agencies, industry and private landowners regarding agency-related activities.
  • Reviewing plans, specifications, and contracts, performing mine history research, environmental investigations, drafting Environmental Assessments, and reviewing invoices and reports.
  • Conducting site visits to AMLER project sites.

Holders Of This Job Will Learn The Following Skills

  • Implementation of the AMLER program and other activities related to the Community Projects section.
  • NEPA procedures and Environmental Assessment development.

Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Background in biological sciences.
  • Hold a current valid driver's license.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Additional position information: travel required, standing/stooping/bending/lifting, sitting at a desk, etc.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of research or administrative experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Research, administrative, or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Travel is required.
