By joining our New Castle Section as an Engineer-in-Training I in Henry County, you’ll have the opportunity to perform technical engineering work in road construction and maintenance; develop practical skills in support to academic theory to provide sufficient competence to qualify for register as a professional engineer. Summary of Responsibilities: Oversee portions of highway projects to analyze data collected Recommend, review and, or, alter design plans through a series of detailed engineering steps or processes Determine various tasks performed by the contractor conform to approved plans and engineering standards Analyze results of test on construction materials for conformance with engineering standards and specifications Apply engineering principles to highway construction and maintenance Ideal Candidate will have experience in: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Valid Engineer-in-Training Certification Experience in civil engineering Experience in construction management Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position: Comprehensive health with optional dental and vision insurance Retirement savings Professional development opportunities and ongoing training A collaborative and innovative work environment Employee wellness program. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title will perform duties in an office setting as well as in a field setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
