Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Job Summary: The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This compassionate caregiver supports clients in achieving greater independence and improving their overall quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, following individualized care plans, and encouraging active participation in community life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support daily living activities, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication administration.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities and social events.
- Implement individualized care plans and document progress.
- Provide transportation to appointments, outings, and other activities.
- Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or needs to the appropriate team members.
- Foster skill development in areas like budgeting, cooking, and interpersonal communication.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting or assisting with mobility.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the lives of others.
Pay: From $16.19 per hour
