Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our award-winning engineering design and consulting firm in our Indianapolis North Office. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will play a key part in maintaining and improving day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of ownership and the ability to step into an established but dynamic accounting environment. Responsibilities will include payroll, financial reporting, work in progress, client invoicing, and a variety of other accounting functions.

- Work in Progress (WIP)
- Client Invoices
- Client & Subconsultant Contract Management
- Client Receipts / Collection Assistance
- Payroll
- Assist with financial reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Required (Master's Degree or CPA Preferred)
- Minimum of 5 Years of Accounting Experience Required - Service-Based Revenue Model Accounting Experience Preferred
- Managerial / Supervisor Experience a plus
- Understanding of Bookkeeping Practices & Procedures
- Excellent Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Ability to Follow Verbal and Written Instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Primarily Microsoft Excel)
- Experience with Deltek software products is preferred but not required
