Speech Therapist

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Speech Therapist, you will provide essential evaluation and therapeutic management for patients with speech, language, and/or cognitive disorders, improving communication, cognitive function, and quality of life.

Every day you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, implement interventions, and monitor progress. You'll educate patients/families on strategies and goals, document encounters, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical evaluation and therapeutic management skills. Excellent communication for patient/family rapport and team collaboration, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and patient advocacy are essential.

• Utilizing the speech therapy process for the planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
  
  

* Assesses the need for equipment, special devices as related to speech pathology treatment. Assures that equipment and supplies are adequate for department and patient care needs and utilized in a cost effective manner. *

* Performs an initial and on-going assessment and evaluation based upon speech pathology concepts and principles that include: pertinent medical diagnosis and history, safety, family/caregiver support; speech and language production, hearing and aural status, cognition, reading and graphic formation, dysphasia, perception, mental emotional status pertinent to the chronological age and development stage of the pediatric, adult and elderly patient. *

* Assesses the need for an in-depth assessment by other disciplines and makes appropriate referrals following policy procedures and guidelines. *

• Provides individualized instruction in oral expression, writing skills and gesturing.
• Provides individualized instruction in swallowing disorders.

*Job Requirements**Required*

• One year experience as a speech therapist. and
• Speech Language Pathologist: CA, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)

$47.52 - $70.68 /hour
