Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Pharmacy Tech, you'll help our patients feel better by providing safe and effective medications to them. You'll help our doctors and nurses feel better knowing that you are providing accurate and timely medication to patients.
Every day, you'll build trust by being extremely thorough and accurate at all times. Patient safety is your top priority, so you do everything you can to ensure all prescriptions are authentic, prepared correctly both in medication type and dosing, and are dispensed appropriately, under the Pharmacist's guidance.
To be successful in this role, you follow all safety protocols, including those intended to prevent infection, and you keep a clean work area at all times. You are eager to learn or help out in any way needed to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and get our patients their medications.
Job Requirements
Required
- One (1) year of acute care hospital pharmacy practice experience or a six (6) week Pharmacy Technician externship at a Dignity Health Sacramento Division Hospital or
- Five (5) years of recent Retail Pharmacy experience processing TARs and PAs (within the last 3 years) or
- One (1) year of recent experience in Pharmacy Managed Care (within the last 3 years).
- Pharmacy Technician: CA.
Preferred
- Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician program and experience in the preparation of intravenous admixtures and antineoplastic/chemotherapeutic/hazardous medications.
- Experience working in a USP 797 clean room.
- Certified Pharmacy Tech PTCB.
- Certified Pharmacy Tech NCCT.
- Certified Pharmacy Tech ECPT.
