What are the responsibilities and job description for the Domestic Airfreight Customer Service Key position at Commodity Forwarders?

Commodity Forwarders is looking for a full time Domestic Airfreight Customer Service Agent to fill a position within our Operations department. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate between $21 – $24/hr. This is an excellent opportunity to join our Los Angeles Branch.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 9 pm – 5:30 am
Your Role:
- Promote a customer service friendly atmosphere
- Arrange air bookings as requested by customers within the USA and Canada
- Pro-actively track and trace freight movement and keep customers informed
- Work directly with warehouse and drivers to ensure timely movement of air cargo
- Bill out shipments within company guidelines
- Be responsive to other departments request
- Ensure that all work adheres to the company’s policy standards
- Perform any other administrative task as needed
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and other departments
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the US and pass TSA background check
- 1 year of customer service experience
- 2 years of logistics experience (airfreight, trucking etc.)
- Able to lift/push/pull at least 35 lbs – when needed
- Able to get quickly between warehouse and operations many times per hour
- Work in cold storage environment – when needed
- Basic computer skills including e-mail, web browsing, outlook, excel and word.
- Logistics experience preferred.
- Domestic Airfreight background is a plus.
