Role Description The Project Estimator/Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, MO, responsible for estimating and leading commercial door and hardware projects from initial bid through completion. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, preparing detailed material and labor estimates, and developing accurate project budgets. This role coordinates with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify project requirements, track costs, and manage changes. The Project Estimator/Lead also helps schedule work, monitors project progress, and supports quality and safety standards on each job.
Qualifications
- Strong Project Estimation and Construction Estimating skills for commercial doors, frames, hardware, and related systems.
- Cost Management and Budgeting abilities to develop, track, and adjust project budgets and bids.
- Effective Communication skills for working with contractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
- Experience in commercial construction or building products, ideally with doors, frames, hardware, or storefront systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort using estimating software, spreadsheets, and general office productivity tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical training or construction-related degree is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Kansas City, MO and visit job sites as needed.
