We are seeking a Commercial Door Estimator/Project Lead to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
Overview
The Commercial Door Estimator/Project Lead is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of commercial door, frame, and hardware projects—from estimating and bidding through execution and closeout. This vital role will be responsible for accurately determining project requirements, preparing detailed estimates, and collaborating with clients and suppliers in order to achieve a successful project completion. This position offers the opportunity to be a part of large-scale commercial projects as well as smaller repair and replacement jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for estimates and schedule site visits.
- Develop accurate cost estimates and detailed proposals for door, frame, and hardware projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, architects, and vendors.
- Assist operations team in project execution, including procurement, scheduling, and coordination of materials and labor.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and addenda to ensure compliance with project scope.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and complete bids.
- Prepare and submit submittals and change orders.
- Monitor project progress, address customer inquiries or change requests, and ensure completion of project.
- Collaborate with accounting and operations staff to manage budgets, timelines, closeouts, and customer billing.
Qualifications
- 2 years estimating in construction, commercial doors, hardware, or a related trade.
- Demonstrated proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Working knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Division 8 (doors, frames, and hardware) is a strong plus.
- Door and Hardware Institute certification preferred but not required.
