- Install, repair, and service doors including interior, exterior, and specialty doors using hand tools and power tools efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical information to ensure precise installation and fabrication.
- Conduct glass installation and fixture mounting with careful attention to safety standards and building codes.
- Perform mechanical repairs on door hardware, locks, hinges, rollers, and related components to ensure optimal operation.
- Utilize welding, metal stud framing, caulking, and fabrication techniques to customize door assemblies or repair damaged structures.
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining work processes and addressing concerns professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in door installation, welding, and construction site work with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches along with power tools like saws and grinders.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, fabrication techniques, and metal framing methods.
- Prior experience working on remodeling projects or within construction environments is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities for customer interactions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
