JOB SUMMARY
The AML Analyst assists the BSA Manager and BSA Officer as follows:
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Assists the BSA Officer in the monitoring of High-Risk Accounts (HRAs)
- Assists the BSA Officer in the daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual monitoring of all accounts via reports from BAM
- Assists in completing full file reviews and filing/renewing SARs, if necessary
- Assists the BSA Officer in gathering supporting documentation for SARs or other purposes
- Prepares month end reports from BAM
- May assist in preparing content for the periodic BSA Memo for the Board
- Assist in CTR preparation and e-filing
- Assist in annual live BSA Training for bank staff
- Assist in the running and maintenance of daily and monthly BAM reports
- Assist in Data Validation in the BAM System
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
Required: High school graduation or equivalent. Two years of bank operations and/or teller experience.
Desirable: Background in BSA (not required; the BSA Officer will consider training the right candidate.) Bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and Image Centre. Once the position is filled, the BSA Officer will train candidate on BAM .

- Strong decision making skills. Part of account monitoring is being able to determine what may be ‘suspicious’ or ‘not suspicious’ based on history for a specific account or customer and to communicate that to the BSA Officer/BSA Manager.
Abilities:
- Enter data in personal computer and operate telecommunications equipment and other office equipment.
- Strong written communication skills (critical in SAR Narratives)
- Use word processing, spreadsheets, and various specialized systems software.
- Plan, organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Analyze and solve work problems
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Possess a certain degree of creativity, flexibility and latitude
- Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
This will be a highly sensitive position that deals with some extremely confidential customer and employee data. The person chosen to fill this position must not discuss anything regarding their daily duties or the data used with any other bank employee nor with anyone outside of the bank. Doing so could lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
