In this advanced technical role, you will review residential construction plans for compliance with adopted building codes, clearly communicate design or code deficiencies to project stakeholders, and apply sound engineering principles throughout the review process. You will also conduct specialized field inspections of existing structures and prepare detailed reports that support informed decision-making. Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
Hiring Range $31.83 - $35.37

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED and three years’ experience as a permit technician and one year in construction industry. Requires International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician Certification and Residential Plans Examiner Certification or must be able to obtain within 18 months from date of hire. Within 12 months of hire, the successful completion of the following FEMA incident management training courses is also required: ICS-100 and IS-700. An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. A valid driver’s license is required.
