Under general direction, the Permit Technician II provides a high level of customer service while processing permit applications, coordinating building inspections, issuing contractor licenses, and preparing certificates of occupancy. This position handles non-routine, detailed, and complex clerical responsibilities and serves as a key resource for both the Division and Department. In this role, you will also serve as a mentor and technical lead—training Permit Technician I staff, reviewing their work for accuracy, and supporting a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range is $28.91 - $32.13

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years’ experience as a permit technician or related construction experience. Requires International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician Certification or must be able to obtain within 18 months from the date of hire. An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. A valid driver’s license is required.
