Job Summary:
CommandTec, LLC has a requirement for a Tester (Automation) ? Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting a federal government customer. The Tester (Automation) ? SME is responsible for leading software testing efforts, developing automated testing solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications supporting mission-critical systems. This position provides technical leadership for quality assurance activities, develops automated test frameworks, and collaborates with development and DevOps teams to integrate testing throughout the software development lifecycle. The Tester (Automation) ? SME drives testing strategy and continuous improvement efforts while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, cybersecurity requirements, and system performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead test planning, design, and execution for enterprise applications and systems
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
- Design and implement functional, regression, integration, and performance tests
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to define testing requirements
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments
- Analyze system requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies
- Execute manual and automated testing for web, mobile, and enterprise applications
- Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution
- Perform root cause analysis of application defects and failures
- Support continuous testing and quality improvement initiatives
- Develop test data, test cases, and test documentation
- Validate application functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria
- Support Agile development processes including sprint planning and backlog refinement
- Conduct usability, performance, and security testing activities
- Provide testing metrics, reporting, and quality status updates
- Mentor junior testers and development team members on testing best practices
- Support system integration and user acceptance testing activities
- Ensure compliance with security and organizational quality standards
- Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned
