Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Field Welder to join our Building Services Construction Group in Arizona. This position plays a crucial role in supporting commercial construction projects by performing high-quality welding and fabrication on structural steel, piping, equipment frames, supports, and various commercial building components. The Field Welder will ensure all welding work meets project specifications, safety requirements, and industry standards while supporting efficient project execution in the field.

This role requires a safety-driven individual with strong technical welding skills, the ability to interpret drawings, and the capability to work independently or within a site crew.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform welding and fabrication on commercial construction projects, including structural steel, supports, platforms, piping, and equipment installations.
• Utilize a variety of welding processes including SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux Core), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) as required by project specifications.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to ensure accuracy in fabrication and field installation.
• Execute layout, cutting, grinding, beveling, and preparation of materials.
• Conduct welds that meet AWS standards and pass visual or non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
• Install, repair, or modify metal components in the field, ensuring structural integrity and alignment.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other field personnel to maintain workflow and meet schedule commitments.
• Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain accurate documentation including weld logs, daily reports, and quality control forms.
• Adhere strictly to jobsite and company safety procedures, including OSHA requirements and job hazard analyses.
• Work in varying outdoor conditions including heat, dust, and active construction environments.

• Strong working knowledge of commercial construction welding applications.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated experience performing high-quality welds on structural steel and piping.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in the field.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of welding experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Proficiency with SMAW, FCAW, MIG, and TIG (TIG preferred on stainless or specialty work).
• Ability to pass a weld test (structural or pipe, depending on project requirements).
• Experience with field installation, rigging fundamentals, and cutting equipment.
• Familiarity with OSHA construction safety practices; OSHA-10 preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements.
