The Refrigeration Technician I supports the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems under the guidance of senior refrigeration technicians and service leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems, including:
- Walk-in coolers and freezers
- Reach-in refrigeration units
- Ice machines and refrigerated cases
- Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment in accordance with company and customer standards
- Support senior technicians during service calls, system inspections, and repairs
- Identify basic mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration-related issues and escalate complex problems as needed
- Accurately document service activities, parts used, and job notes using company systems
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and service management
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in a clean and professional manner
- Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures at all times
- 1–3 years of commercial refrigeration or HVAC experience preferred
- Basic understanding of refrigeration cycles, components, and controls
- EPA Universal Certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to learn and work under the direction of experienced technicians
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and service documentation
