Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing symptoms, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Medication reminders, accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations to ensure client safety and confidentiality.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in social activities or recreational pursuits to enhance mental well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment aligned with infection control standards.
- Support clients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or hospice care by implementing tailored strategies and ensuring comfort.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home environments, or group homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Willingness to obtain necessary training is expected.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using appropriate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs including autism or dementia is a plus.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate attitude towards diverse populations.
