We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant and Room Attendants to join our team at the Comfort Inn Edwardsville. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper handling of linens, garments, and textiles through efficient laundry services. Responsibilities
- Operate laundry machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and garment care equipment to clean textiles effectively.
- Handle materials with care using proper manual handling techniques and push carts to transport laundry items safely across the facility.
- Sort, load, and unload laundry loads while adhering to safety protocols and sanitation standards.
- Use appropriate laundry detergents and cleaning agents while following safety standards in production to ensure effective cleaning without damaging textiles.
- Conduct routine inspections of laundry items for stains, tears, or damage; perform dry cleaning or textile cleaning procedures as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including sanitation of machines and surrounding surfaces, to promote a safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and materials handling to ensure smooth workflow during busy periods.
- Cleaning rooms on a daily basis - bathrooms, changing linen, etc.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in cleaning, laundry services, or textile care is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for measuring detergents and calculating load sizes accurately.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocol guidelines.
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude towards teamwork and communication.
- Familiarity with garment care machine operation, industrial dryers, and dry cleaning processes is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining high levels of sanitation, safety standards, and quality control throughout all tasks.
Pay: $15.50 - $15.75 per hour
