What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager / Senior Caregiver position at Comfort Homecare Services?
We are seeking a highly dependable, organized, and proactive House Manager / Senior Caregiver to support an older adult in their home.
This is not a traditional caregiving position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the client's daily routine and household needs, anticipate what needs to be done, and help keep the client's home, appointments, errands, meals, and day-to-day activities organized.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship, supervision, and support with daily routines
- Maintain an organized and safe household
- Prepare and cook healthy meals
- Grocery shop and keep track of household necessities
- Run errands, pick up prescriptions, and complete other household tasks
- Maintain and track the client's appointments and calendar
- Provide appointment reminders and help the client stay on schedule
- Drive the client to medical appointments, shopping, errands, and activities
- Communicate important updates or changes to the family and Comfort Homecare Services
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization
- Monitor for changes in the client's routine, behavior, safety, or needs
- Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done
- Provide caregiving assistance as needed and within the caregiver's scope of practice
Ideal Candidate
We are specifically looking for someone who is mature, proactive, responsible, organized, and comfortable working independently.
A caregiving background is strongly preferred. Experience as a CNA or senior caregiver, particularly working with older adults experiencing memory loss, dementia, or cognitive changes, is a major plus.
Driving Requirements
Reliable transportation is required. The caregiver must:
- Have a valid driver's license
- Have a reliable personal vehicle
- Maintain current automobile insurance
- Have a safe and reliable driving record
- Be comfortable regularly transporting the client to appointments and errands
What We're Looking For
The right person will see something that needs to be handled and take appropriate action without needing constant direction. We need someone who can help manage the client's day, keep the household running smoothly, and provide the family with confidence that important details are not being overlooked.
This position is best suited for an experienced caregiver who is organized enough to function as a household manager while still providing compassionate senior care.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
