Comfort Home Community Services is looking for Direct Support Professional to join our team of professional in making a difference in the lives of others. Comfort Home Community Services is seeking associates for In Home Community Support, Companion Services, Respite Services and Community Participation Support in Lehigh County, Northampton and Monroe County area
We are seeking professionals who has the ability to develop and implement our individual goals and plan through home and community activities for our program participants. Our services are built on person centered planning that consist of assistance, supporting, guiding , prompting, modeling and reinforcing everyone's greatness. Our team approach is about the strength, hopes, desires and dreams in supporting others.
We are seeking professionals to assist supporting individual's and their families in general areas such as self-care, health maintenance, communication, decision making, transportation, relationship development ,socialization in being part of their community promoting their community life.
Job Responsibility
- Assist in providing supported services based on an individual support plans and desired activities in promoting community life.
- Assist with planning, organizing and participating in activities provided to individuals in the home and community.
- Provide transportation within the community utilizing personal vehicle.
- Meet the needs, desires and activities of the individual we support.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, families, and others who are essential for the well-being of the individual's we support.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations appropriately.
- The work environment for this position varies and is a community-based locations providing support to the individuals and their family in their home and in the community.
- Knowledge of health measures such as basic first aid, CPR, fire safety and personal safety measures.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver's license with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
- At least 18 years of age
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Successfully completion of required training as mandated by regulation.
- Successfully completed preemployment process including motor vehicle record and criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school Diploma
