What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDS Personal Care Attendant position at Comfort Care?
A CDS Personal Care attendant assists clients in the CDS program with their activities of daily living. The CDS program is designed for the consumer to be able to direct their own care by hiring their own attendant. This may include a family member of the consumer (except their spouse). The attendant is hired by the consumer directly. The attendant will be responsible for agreeing to the terms of employment with the consumer. Providing the agreed upon duties and personal care tasks of the consumer. Reporting to work as scheduled and contacting the consumer immediately if there is a problem getting to work on time. Practicing care to prevent injury to the consumer when providing personal care assistance by following the training and instruction given by the consumer. Maintaining consumer confidentiality at all time. Maintaining service records of tasks performed for the consumer. Reporting and acts of abuse/neglect of a consumer to the Elder Abuse Hotline immediately.
Must be 18 years of age. Able to meet the physical and mental demands required to perform specific tasks by a particular consumer. Able to be emotionally mature and dependable. Able to handle emergency type situations. Cannot be the consumer's spouse.
