Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living support. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to assist with transfers safely and comfortably - Observe and document changes in condition or behavior, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Follow prescribed care plans developed by healthcare professionals to deliver personalized support
- Assist with community outings or activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, or family members to coordinate ongoing care efforts
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including CPR certification, first aid procedures, and HIPAA regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings with a focus on senior care or disability support
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
lifts - Excellent communication skills for interacting empathetically with residents and team members
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures aligned with care plans
- Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions and safety protocols
- Experience in meal preparation tailored to special dietary needs
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy at all times
- Capable of managing multiple responsibilities including patient monitoring, assisting with ADLs, cleaning, and documentation
- Certifications such as CPR and first aid are highly preferred but can be obtained upon hire if necessary
- Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving ensures a positive environment for residents or clients
