POSITION SUMMARY: The Residential Technician is responsible for the daily supervision, support, and monitoring of Halfway House clients to ensure a safe, structured, and therapeutic living environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting individuals transitioning back into the community by promoting accountability, enforcing house rules, and providing holistic support addressing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily supervision and support to Halfway House clients.
- Maintain a safe and structured environment by monitoring client behavior and activities on the premises.
- Enforce house rules and organizational policies, document and report rule infractions to the Halfway House Director.
- Handle stressful situations and respond appropriately to emergencies as they arise.
- Log and document all client activity during assigned shifts.
- Serve as a positive role model for clients through appropriate behavior, demeanor, and appearance.
- Administer breathalyzer and drug testing to clients as required.
- Transport clients to approved program activities using the program van.
- Participate in daily routines and structured activities that support client recovery and reintegration.
- Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REPORTING:
This position operates under the general supervision of the Halfway House Director. The Residential Technician works cooperatively with the Recovery Team to support program goals designed to assist Native American men and women in improving life skills while maintaining sobriety.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employees must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Examples: packing and moving Clients’ belongings to storage; carry groceries, cleaning supplies, chairs and tables from the van to the building and move furniture.

- Work Schedule: Monday-Sunday, flex schedule
- Travel/Training Required: Occasionally
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two (2) years of sobriety if chemically dependent.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with chemically dependent individuals.
- Commitment to protecting client anonymity and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- High level of reliability with a strong attendance record.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Pleasant, professional demeanor with the ability to build rapport with both men and women clients.
- Willingness to work tribal, state, and federal holidays.
- Willingness to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and sober activities with clients.
- Valid Driver’s License required; must be able to operate GSA vehicles and meet Tribe’s vehicle insurance requirements.
- Ability to perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
