POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with preparation of daily meals for our drive-thru, congregate, and home delivery program participants. Will assist with the preparation of the next day meal ingredients and/or desserts as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Kitchen manager with the preparation of daily nutritional meals for eligible program recipients.
- Help with the food prep for next day.
- Keep kitchen clean, dishes washed, and all areas sanitized daily.
- Assist with grocery and supply orders.
- Assist with inventory and keeping supplies stocked, labeled, and dated.
- Help package meals for daily delivery.
- Greet elders in a professional manner.
- Deliver meals to home-bound as directed.
- Transport elders to run errands and/or hospital visits when alternative transportation is unavailable.
- Assist elderly clients with applications for services as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Will report to CNEC Director, Office Assistant, and/or Kitchen Manager.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift or move 50-pound objects with proper lifting skills, stand for long intervals of time, bend, squat and physically exert himself/herself at times. Will be driving long distances at times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Professional and Confidential. Office, kitchen, and outdoor work.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years of experience or more of working with elders.
- Must have a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License.
- Have knowledge skill of preparation methods for nutritional food values, knowledge of purchasing principles, portion control and work simplification.
- Good communication/computer skills, ability to work independently with established guidelines and procedures.
- Must be able to pass drug screening.
