DEFINITION:
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians assists the nursing staff in administering direct and indirect patient care by performing specialized technical skills, reporting any unusual incidents or findings and maintaining a clean and safe physical environment of the area for the following age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric. The Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians scope of practice includes basic and limited advanced skills focused on the acute management and transportation of critical and emergent patients which reduces the morbidity and mortality.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):
- Must possess certification by the National Registry as a AEMT
- Must possess certification by the State of Oklahoma as an intermediate or AEMT.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
6 months experience, or letter of recommendation for anything less
Experience performance record may be considered.
Within 90 days of hire date, must pass all departmental competencies
