We are seeking a lead Quality Engineer who is eager to assume responsibility for quality across precision manufacturing and gasket operations. In this hands-on role, you will directly engage in inspections, foster relationships with suppliers, and oversee the AS9100 Quality Management System. Collaborating closely with machine shop management, you will also supervise one direct report, positioning yourself as a pivotal player in achieving organizational quality objectives and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the maintenance and enhancement of the AS9100 Quality Management System to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
Conduct hands-on inspections of manufactured parts, delivering immediate feedback to teams to drive quality improvements.
Develop comprehensive quality plans and documents that detail inspection processes and standards for precision manufacturing.
Act as a primary point of contact for supplier quality activities, ensuring materials meet required standards and specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align quality goals with production objectives and enhance overall operational performance.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems in the aerospace industry, ensuring compliance and quality standards.
A minimum of 2 years of programming and operating CMMs (like Zeiss Calypso or PC-DMIS), ensuring high precision in inspections.
Expertise in creating and executing First Article Inspection (FAI) reports according to AS9102 standards, demonstrating thorough documentation skills.
Strong working knowledge of GD&T principles as established by ASME Y14.5 to ensure accurate part specifications and inspections.
Proven ability to comply with ITAR regulations and understanding of 'U.S. Person' definitions for export control compliance.
