Primary Purpose:

Acts as the administrative secretary for assigned department (Student Support). Provides clerical services and manages office activities.

Education / Certification:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Some college is preferred. 

Special Knowledge / Skills:

1. Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance.
2. Ability to keep confidential information.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to make independent decisions.
5. Ability to deal with the general public.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, word processing, PowerPoint (including Microsoft Office), Adobe Pro, Microsoft Publishe
8. Ability to quickly learn software application
9. Spanish proficiency at native speaker level.

Experience / Other Requirements:

1. Three years of Clerical / office experience is required.
2. Experience in a public education environment is preferred.
3. Accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assists in preparing and submitting local, state, and federal budgets.
2. Assists patrons/parents/employees who call or visit the offic
3. Answers incoming calls, takes reliable messages, and routes to appropriate staff.
4. Receives, sorts, and distributes mail and other documents to department staff.
5. Types, proofreads, copies, files, and distributes all letters, documents, memos, and other communications for the department and administrato
6. Orders supplies for the department.
7. Prepares monthly budget/expense reports for departmen
8. Processes purchase orders for departments.
9. Assists administrators on projects as needed.
10. Keeps up with changes in policy and procedu
11. Keeps current all assigned files, documentation, & form
12. Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department reco
13. Other duties as assigned.
