Primary Purpose:

The CTE Coordinator provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for Career & Technical Education programs. This role ensures high-quality instructional delivery, alignment with state standards and workforce demands, and the development of innovative programs that prepare students for college and career success.

 

 

Education / Certification:

  1. A minimum of three years teaching/leading in a CTE Program of Study area.
  2. A master's degree with an emphasis in Education Administration or Career & Technical Education is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  1. A personal cell phone is required to handle district related business, including after hours, or when away from the office on district business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Lead large-scale instructional initiatives and districtwide professional development across CTE programs to improve teacher effectiveness and student outcomes.
  2. Partner with campus and district leadership to implement CTE curriculum aligned with state standards, industry expectations, and district goals.
  3. Design and deliver high-impact professional development focused on instructional strategies, curriculum implementation, and program best practices.
  4. Develop and launch new CTE programs and career pathways based on emerging industry trends and student interest.
  5. Integrate digital tools, instructional software, and technology systems to enhance teaching and learning.
  6. Analyze program data, usage metrics, and participation trends to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  7. Prepare and deliver presentations to district leadership, advisory boards, and community stakeholders.
  8. Manage day-to-day program operations including compliance, reporting, curriculum resources, teacher support, and equipment procurement.
  9. Build and maintain partnerships with industry leaders and community organizations to expand student opportunities and real-world connections.
  10. Oversee facility planning, program expansion, and retrofitting of CTE spaces, including equipment maintenance and upgrades.
  11. Support instructional quality by developing curriculum-aligned materials, project-based learning experiences, and assessments.
  12. Use data-driven practices to monitor student progress and support diverse learners.
  13. Foster strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student achievement and program success.
  14. Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
  15. Serve on state and local committees for CTE.

 

 

 

 

Policy, Reports, and Law

  1. Recommend sound processes directed to program improvement.
  2. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of career and technical education.
  3. Compile needs assessments based on documented program needs.
  4. Maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend the disposal and replacement of equipment when necessary.

Personnel Management

  1. Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions of the career and technical education department.
  2. Develop training options and/or improvement plans to ensure operation of the career and technical education department.
  3. Participate in recruitment, selection, and training of personnel. Make sound recommendations about personnel placement, transfer, retention, discipline, and dismissal.

Communication and Community Support

  1. Recruit employers and businesses to provide learning experience to students and provide assistance as necessary.
  2. Articulate the district’s mission and goals in career and technical education to the community and solicit its support in realizing its mission.
  3. Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
  4. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
  5. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
  6. Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
