Quality Inspector

Job Summary

Com-Pac International is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will help ensure our products meet customer expectations and company quality standards by conducting inspections, performing tests, documenting results, and communicating quality concerns. Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and vision inspection systems to verify product dimensions and specifications.
• Utilize advanced measurement tools including coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to assess complex parts and assemblies with high accuracy.
• Perform visual inspections and functional testing to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as, ISO 9001, FDA regulations, HACCP, CGMP, and other relevant quality systems.
• Document inspection results accurately through detailed data collection and recordkeeping; prepare reports for quality audits and management reviews.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits to verify adherence to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and vision inspection systems.
• Utilize advanced quality management tools like Calypso, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and CGMP standards to ensure compliance across all manufacturing processes.
• Perform detailed quality audits and assessments to identify deviations from established specifications and regulatory requirements including FDA regulations and HACCP protocols.
• Document inspection results accurately through data collection methods and generate comprehensive reports for management review.
• Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues promptly, providing guidance on corrective actions and process improvements.
• Maintain calibration records for measurement tools like coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and ensure all equipment adheres to calibration schedules.
• Place materials on hold when quality requirements are not met.
• Verify labels, packaging, and product specifications for accuracy.
• Follow all GMP, food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with investigations related to customer complaints and quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience in quality control or quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, HACCP, CGMP, and FDA regulations.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems.
• Familiarity with calibration procedures for measurement tools and conducting quality audits.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately and identify root causes of defects.
• Experience working with quality management software such as Calypso or similar platforms is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Manufacturing or quality inspection experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
