Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and operation of resort facilities, equipment, and systems, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components function efficiently and safely. This role requires performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Mechanic works under the direction of the Maintenance Lead to complete tasks, maintain a safe working environment, and contribute to a high-quality guest experience by ensuring resort facilities remain in optimal condition.
Essential Functions:
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Assist with internal and external repairs on cabins, laundry facilities, and other facilities.
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools used for various repair and maintenance tasks.
Grounds and Equipment Care:
- Maintain and clean boats and docks, ensuring boat motors are properly maintained.
- Care for grounds by operating lawn mowers (both riding and hand), weed eaters, and hedge trimmers; remove weeds and trim tree branches as necessary.
- Cut and stack wood for cabin use and maintain RV sites, tent sites, and fire pits in good condition.
Customer and Guest Services:
- Provide professional customer service by assisting guests with various needs, including boat launching, pumping propane, picking up supplies, and offering guidance on resort rules and Tribal laws; aid stranded motorists and boaters as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all established safety standards, ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures, TOSHA, and OSHA regulations as applicable.
- Utilize all required safety precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools with the ability to operate them effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior experience in maintenance position.
- Must possess a current and valid Washington State Driver’s License and be eligible for the Tribes vehicle insurance.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and a variety of shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Carpentry experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Stamina to handle a full shift of being physically active.
- Ability to occasionally sit for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently walk and stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, climbing, and crawling.
Work Environment:
- Occasional work near or around electricity and mechanical moving parts.
- Frequent exposure to noise, smoke, fumes, or airborne particles.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, including temperature and precipitation variations.
