Summary:

The Image Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall functionality of the retail store—both inside and out.  This includes routine cleaning, light maintenance, and upkeep of the store’s interior and exterior spaces, such as restrooms, fixtures, landscaping, and parking lot areas.  This role ensures that the store environment remains safe, welcoming, and visually appealing for customers and staff.  The Image Associate also supports the team by handling minor repairs, managing maintenance supplies, and assisting with the setup of displays or fixtures as needed.  By upholding high standards of cleanliness and organization, the Image Associate plays a key role in enhancing the overall customer experience.

Essential Functions:

Store Appearance and Maintenance:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of store entrances, aisles, restrooms, and other common areas, ensuring they are tidy, free of debris, and visually appealing.
  • Keep the parking lot clean and maintained, ensuring it is free of debris, safe, and accessible for customers.
  • Perform regular landscaping duties, including lawn care, trimming, and planting, to ensure a fresh and welcoming exterior.
  • Ensure display areas are visually appealing and free of clutter, contributing to a pleasant shopping environment.

Visual Merchandising Support:

  • Assist in setting up, arranging, and maintaining store displays and promotional materials, ensuring they align with company standards and marketing goals.
  • Coordinate with the sales and merchandising team to implement store layout changes as directed by the Store Manager, ensuring an organized and inviting shopping experience.

Maintenance Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs (light bulbs, plumbing checks, fixture adjustments), painting, and handling minor repairs to maintain store functionality.
  • Identify areas requiring attention in both the interior and exterior of the store and collaborate with vendors for larger repairs or improvements, such as parking lot patching or major equipment malfunctions.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring a secure environment for customers and staff. This includes proper handling of equipment and materials used for landscaping and maintenance tasks.
  • Use appropriate protective equipment and follow safety protocols when performing maintenance, cleaning, or landscaping tasks, ensuring all work is done safely and in compliance with regulations.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Communicate effectively with the Store Manager and maintenance team regarding store conditions and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks completed and supplies used.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with special projects, seasonal tasks (e.g., snow removal, seasonal clean-up), and other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or maintenance team leader, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of basic maintenance procedures, including minor repairs, fixture adjustments, and upkeep of equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ability to notice small issues or imperfections in the store or exterior areas and take appropriate actions to address them before they become bigger problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to report maintenance needs and communicate effectively with team members and managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and be eligible for Tribes vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or landscaping role, particularly in a retail or commercial setting, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, snow blowers, power washers) and their proper use and maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel to reach low areas for cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for using maintenance tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers) and landscaping equipment (e.g., trimmers, mowers).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow, particularly for landscaping or parking lot maintenance tasks.
