Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all accounting activities and financial workflows
- Produce, review, and interpret periodic financial reports and statements
- Maintain oversight of the general ledger, balance sheet accounts, and reconciliation processes
- Guide the annual budgeting cycle and ongoing financial projections
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and industry requirements for credit unions and financial institutions
- Track financial results and deliver meaningful analysis and recommendations to executive leadership
- Develop, enforce, and monitor internal control policies and procedures
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the accounting staff
- Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, examiners, and other financial partners
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility within accounting or finance functions
- Currently serving in a senior-level accounting role such as Controller, Assistant Controller, or another high-level accounting leadership position
- Financial statement preparation and reporting
- Managing and maintaining the general ledger
- Performing detailed account reconciliations
- Proven ability in financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and analytical review
- Strong understanding of compliance standards within banking or regulated financial environments
- Effective leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing teams
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools
- Hands-on experience working with accounting and financial management systems
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA or CMA designation preferred
- General ledger oversight and maintenance
- Detailed balance sheet and account reconciliation
- Preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements and reports
- Demonstrated track record of success in:
- Developing and managing budgets
- Creating forecasts and long-range financial projections
- Conducting financial analysis to inform and support strategic business decisions
- Regulatory requirements applicable to banking or financial institutions
- Internal control frameworks and audit-related processes
- Hands-on experience utilizing:
- Accounting platforms and ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, modeling, and data analysis
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals
