The Columbus Torah Academy in Columbus, Ohio (www.torahacademy.org) is looking for a dynamic individual to teach English Language Arts and Social Studies in the middle school and high school beginning in the 2026-27 academic year.
Columbus Torah Academy, an independent K-12 Jewish day school accredited by ISACS, is located on the east side of Columbus on a private campus. Columbus Torah Academy is an independent college preparatory school with approximately 220 students total.
The candidate should be passionate about the teaching of literature, composition, and history, and be committed to the values of growth, excellence, and creativity. Our classes are small, and our teachers enjoy getting to know their students well. Our students come from families that value a good education and will partner with the school and teachers. Approximately 40% of our student body qualifies for free or reduced fee lunch.

Position Expectations:
The individual selected to this position will be expected to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Teach high school level English Language Arts and/or History classes in addition to 7th grade ELA and Social Studies.
- Assume a share of responsibilities expected of all upper school faculty members
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum design and development
- Supervise the 7th grade Shakespeare workshop and performance.
- Maintain electronic gradebooks on the school’s SIS and update regularly.
- Provide periodic updates to parents about student progress, via both written reports and in-person conferences
- Hold students accountable for the school’s standards of behavior
- Work with other members in the school community to support each student’s emotional well-being
Qualifications:
- College degree (BS or BA) required
- Post graduate experience in English or History field preferred but not required
- Excellent writing and communication skills, proficiency with technology, a commitment to personal growth, a spirit of collaboration and flexibility
