Academic Interventionist (Intervention Specialist license preferred but not required)
The Columbus Torah Academy in Columbus, Ohio ( www.torahacademy.org ), is looking for an academic interventionist for the Lower School, grades K-5, for the 2026-2027 academic school year.
Columbus Torah Academy, an independent K-12 Jewish day school accredited by ISACS, is located on the east side of Columbus on a private campus. Columbus Torah Academy is an independent college preparatory school with approximately 225 students total, with 145 in the Lower School. Our classes are small, and our teachers enjoy getting to know their students well.
100% of our graduates attend college, (either 2-year or 4-year) and the vast majority of students come from families with college-educated parents. Approximately 40% of our student body qualifies for free or reduced-fee lunch.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Teaching license or special education experience preferred but not required
- Experience working with children
- Capable of designing and implementing effective remediation and extension lessons for behind-grade-level and above-grade-level students respectively, specifically in math and writing and reading comprehension
- Good communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Comfortable with basic computing skills, including Google Suite
- Positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a warm, nurturing demeanor preferred
The role would include the following tasks:
- Work directly with selected students to support academic needs or executive functioning skills such as organization, note-taking, project planning
- Supervise students in small group settings one-on-one settings, or as a co-teacher in a whole-class setting
- Work with teachers of those students to help create scaffolds or modify assignments
- Communicate with parents of students on a proactive basis
- Read ETRs and translate them into teacher-friendly learning plans.
- Take assessment data for progress monitoring purposes
- Meet with Principal biweekly to discuss student progress and needs
- Other duties as assigned
