What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation and Racquet Sports Assistant Manager position at Columbus Hospitality Management?
Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, located on tropical Sanibel Island, is seeking a Recreation and Racquet Sports Assistant Manager to join our team.
The Recreation & Court Sports Assistant Manager is responsible for the management of the Recreation and Court Sports Department, in accordance with resort standards. Directs, implements, and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. This role is also responsible for all aspects of the pool, beach, and court sports areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, cleanliness, and the day-to-day operations. Provides and models service behavior to guests and team members. Strives to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction and maximize financial performance in areas of responsibility.
Essential Functions:
1. Monitors quality, standards and meets the expectations of the guests daily.
2. Assist with creating and coordinating activities calendar for resort guests on a timely manner.
3. Keep all activity areas and equipment clean and maintained.
4. Maintaining a monthly inventory of all materials, bicycles, watercraft and accessories. Ensuring that all equipment is in working order daily.
5. Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
6. Creating and maintaining weekly recreation schedule
7. Assisting in the planning and execution of special events with sales department or resort clients
8. Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department.
9. Orders and manages necessary supplies. Ensures team members have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
10. Manages pool, beach, and court sports areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep and cleanliness, and the operation of cabanas, management of towel card program.
11. Assist with pickleball and tennis events and teams
12. Reserving court time and booking lessons and clinics for tennis pro and Pickleball pro
13. Manage ordering, maintaining stock and inventory of all retail items. Ensure supplies are available according to resort occupancy levels.
14. Maintain top notch condition of pickleball and tennis courts and all equipment.
15. Interact regularly with all tennis and pickleball members.
16. Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, provides guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
17. Available for work assignments outside of associate’s customary work schedule. This may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Required Skills:
- Must be good with children
- Must be able to swim
- CPR certified
- Valid drivers’ license to operate a Resort golf cart
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
