Residential Worker-KH/HH
FT position, current shift, M-Th. 3:30-11:30 pm, & Fri.7:30am-3:30 pm - requires flexibility, but currently assigned either or alternating, monthly schedules of afternoon, and/or evening shifts. Comprehensive benefits available.
PT position, variable/intermittent, 0-19 hrs. week-currently assigned day shift hours on Sat & Sun.
Residential Shift Worker provides support, supervision and monitoring of residents residing in individual apartments/rooms, as applicable at Hornsby House, or Kendall Home. Review ISP and assist residents in achieving stated goals. On occasion, respond to resident crisis using established procedures including contacting appropriate resources for assistance, i.e., Help Network, police or ambulance, etc. Monitor residents for signs of substance use according to established procedures. Assist in daily living activities. Complete appropriate admission/discharge documentation including completing the Common Assessment Form for input in the HMIS. Orient and explain program rules and responsibilities, client rights consent forms, etc. Follow procedures related to resident and facility safety as detailed in the procedures manual. Perform light/general facility maintenance and housekeeping (e.g., dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping; clean windows, change light bulbs, or other related tasks). Request appropriate assistance and or outside maintenance, when applicable, or if emergency arises. As applicable, may facilitate group activities for purpose of providing substance use education, management of symptoms, and to prevent isolation through meaningful activity. Perform computer system data entry. Participate in supervision, trainings, meetings. Regular attendance, dependability, work flexible schedule, and adherence to work schedule. E.O.E.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma, or GED equivalent required. Minimum of one year formal education in the field of social work, psychology or human services field, and/or experience with persons with mental disabilities; or related experience and Associate degree or higher in related human services field is preferred, but not required. Well developed organizational, interpersonal, teamwork and written and verbal communication skills. Exhibit dependability and reliability and ability to work flexible schedule. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle in safe operating condition. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word,) preferred and ability to perform computer data entry required. Ability to stand/lift/move supplies and equipment to and from work areas, as applicable, or appropriately request assistance when needed. Direct telephone service via home or cell availability. Criminal background, drug screen, BMV clearances required.
