The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Copywriter who wants to learn the craft of direct response fundraising from the ground up. This is an ideal role for a strong young writer—whether you’re a recent graduate or early in your career—who wants to develop real, marketable writing skills rather than write academic or corporate copy.
You will be trained directly in:
- How professional fundraisers motivate donors
- How to structure fundraising letters
- How to write with clarity, urgency, and emotional force
- How to improve rapidly through direct, detailed editorial feedback

Responsibilities
- Write fundraising letters that connect emotionally with donors and motivate action
- Revise copy based on detailed editorial feedback
- Proofread your work (and others’) with extreme attention to detail
- Manage assignments independently and meet real production deadlines
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing ability (a writing test is required before an offer is made)
- Coachability and a willingness to apply direct, critical feedback
- Ability to work independently and hit deadlines
- Comfort writing in support of conservative ideas and causes
- Full-time availability onsite in Winchester, VA
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Writing ability matters more than credentials.
Location
This is an in-person position based in Winchester, Virginia. Winchester offers a low cost of living, a historic downtown, and convenient access to Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.
