CDL Driver

Job Overview
We are looking for a truck driver. Columbiad Fabrication is a metal fabrication shop and our typical deliveries are within a 4-hour radius of Puryear, TN. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate different routes while adhering to delivery schedules. This driver will operator a range of different vehicles including a semi truck, flatbed, and pickup truck with a gooseneck trailer.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks including semis and flatbeds.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
• Plan routes effectively to meet delivery deadlines while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate logs of hours worked, mileage driven, and cargo transported as per regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.

Skills

• Proficient in truck driving with experience in commercial driving.
• Experience with route driving and delivery driving is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.

Schedule

• Deliveries run Mon-Fri as needed.
• We can offer part-time work for driving only, or a full-time schedule for a driver/floater who would assist the production team while not driving. Floater assignments include unloading laser tables, cleaning parts, assisting with two-man lifts in the brake press department, and part packaging.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
