Summary:
To provide clinical and clerical support to patients, medical staff, and other providers.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including.
- Obtaining vital signs.
- Obtaining and recording patient history.
- Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas.
- Maintaining medication and immunization records.
- Screening and following up on test results as directed by a health care practitioner.
- Monitoring and reporting patient symptoms and side effects.
- Administering intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
- Collecting specimens for laboratory testing. i.e. blood, urine and saliva.
- Check and return voice messages for medical department and triage to appropriate staff when needed.
- Coordinate care with relevant internal and external providers and informal supports.
- Assist medical staff with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Request relevant medical records and reports from outside providers involved in the patient’s care.
- Complete all documentation and charting as required by law or agency contract.
- Possess knowledge of client rights and ensure an atmosphere that allows for consumer privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe secure environment.
- Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Supports agency mission, goals, and objectives.
Education, Licensing and Experience:
- High School diploma required.
- Active, Washington state, Certified Medical Assistant license.
- Current CPR card.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mental health or social services work environment.
- Ability to pass background checks for Jails and School if assigned to an offsite location.
