Job Overview
We are seeking an extroverted and dedicated Physician Liaison to serve as a vital bridge between our healthcare providers and the community we serve. This energetic role involves fostering strong relationships with physicians, medical practices, and healthcare organizations to promote our pain management (opioid and interventional) services. The Physician Liaison will be instrumental in enhancing referral networks, educating providers about our capabilities, and ensuring seamless communication that benefits patient care.
Duties
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians, specialists, and healthcare organizations to facilitate referrals and collaborative care.
- Educate providers about our diverse clinical programs, including advanced imaging, surgical specialties, outpatient services, and innovative treatment options.
- Coordinate educational sessions, outreach events, and informational meetings to keep providers informed about new services, protocols, and research initiatives.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on hospital services, patient care pathways, and clinical research opportunities to support provider engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as medical staff, marketing, and patient services to ensure consistent messaging and optimal referral processes.
- Track referral patterns, analyze trends, and report on outreach effectiveness to continuously improve engagement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient and provider information during interactions.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical office settings or hospital environments with a strong understanding of clinical workflows.
- Knowledge of various medical specialties including psychiatry, cardiology, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, radiology (including interventional radiology), critical care, gastroenterology, and endocrinology.
- Experience in healthcare outreach or physician relations roles is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex clinical information clearly and confidently.
- Ability to travel within the designated service area for meetings and outreach activities.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly with diverse healthcare professionals while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm for collaborative growth.
