The Director of Pharmacy oversees pharmacy services. This position is responsible for setting the vision and strategy, direction and coordination, and the overall leadership of pharmacy services. Working collaboratively with pharmacy, nursing, clinic, quality, management teams, professional staff, and our OHSU partners, the director of pharmacy is responsible for establishing effective strategies for achieving programs and product/service line goals. This includes systems, processes, policies and structures that ensure safe, high-quality delivery of care and utilization of resources.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:
Demonstrated leadership, facilitation and negotiation skills.
Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills. In-depth knowledge/experience in fiscal management including contracting, reimbursement and the 340B program.
Knowledgeable of the principles of change management, conflict resolution and performance improvement. Must have the ability to use judgment and discretion.
Must have the ability for precision and attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population.
License/Certification
Currently licensed as a pharmacist with Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.
BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
Education And/or Experience
Required: BS in Pharmacy; Three years pharmacy management experience.
Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, Master of Business Administration or related
3-5 years pharmacy management experience with comprehensive knowledge of healthcare services required
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Prolonged computer use. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. Has direct patient/family contact.
