Description
The Physical Plant Department is seeking a Maintenance Assistant (Female) to support maintenance operations in the Girls’ Dormitory. This hands-on position assists the maintenance team with a variety of repair and facility maintenance projects while gaining valuable practical experience in campus operations.
The Maintenance Assistant works alongside the Physical Plant maintenance team to complete a variety of general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, furniture repairs, plumbing, equipment maintenance, and other facility-related projects. This is a hands-on position that requires a positive attitude, dependability, and an aptitude for repairing and maintaining campus facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Plant maintenance team with daily maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic carpentry and furniture repairs.
- Assist with plumbing and equipment maintenance.
- Help maintain residence hall facilities and other campus buildings.
- Use tools and equipment safely while following department procedures.
- Complete additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current CIU student eligible for on-campus employment.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance skills.
- Ability to perform hands-on physical work.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous maintenance or repair experience is helpful but not required.
