Intel Support to Information Operations Analyst

Position Overview

The Intelligence Support to Information Operations (IO) Analyst provides intelligence-driven analysis and planning support to information operations, influence activities, and cognitive effects integration. This role focuses on understanding and shaping adversary perceptions, decision-making, and behavior within the information environment.

The analyst supports the development of IO plans and campaigns by integrating intelligence on adversary cognition, narratives, and information vulnerabilities to inform operational design and execution.

This role will be performed in support of the Office of the Secretary of War - Policy (OSW(P)).

Key Responsibilities

Information Environment & Adversary Analysis

• Analyze all-source intelligence to characterize the information environment, including adversary perceptions, narratives, decision-making processes, and information ecosystems
• Identify adversary vulnerabilities, biases, assumptions, and cognitive seams that can be leveraged through IO
• Assess adversary use of information-related capabilities, including influence operations, disinformation, and propaganda
• Develop adversary profiles focused on how actors perceive, interpret, and respond to information

Intelligence Support to IO Planning

• Integrate intelligence into IO planning processes (e.g., operational design, targeting, campaign planning)
• Support development of IO concepts and courses of action that influence adversary perceptions and behaviors
• Provide intelligence-driven recommendations on how information can be used to shape the operational environment
• Assist planners in aligning IO activities with desired cognitive and behavioral outcomes

Targeting & Effects Development

• Support identification and analysis of key audiences, decision-makers, and influence pathways
• Contribute to development of tailored approaches to affect adversary understanding and decision calculus
• Assist in mapping relationships between narratives, actors, and information channels
• Provide analytic support to synchronize IO activities with broader operational objectives

Assessment & Evaluation

• Develop and apply measures of effectiveness (MOE) and performance (MOP) tied to changes in perception, behavior, and decision-making
• Assess the impact of IO activities on adversary understanding and responses
• Identify indicators of success, failure, or unintended effects within the information environment

Collaboration & Integration

• Coordinate with intelligence, operational, and interagency partners to ensure alignment of analysis and planning efforts
• Support working groups, planning teams, and senior leader engagements
• Translate complex intelligence insights into clear, actionable recommendations for planners and decision-makers

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in intelligence, international relations, political science, or related field
• 3–10 years of experience in intelligence analysis, IO, or related operational support
• Experience supporting DoD, Joint Staff, OSW, or Combatant Command environments
• Strong understanding of intelligence analysis and its application to operations
• Experience supporting planning processes or operational design efforts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting information operations, influence activities, or psychological operations
• Familiarity with operational planning processes (e.g., JOPP)
• Experience analyzing adversary decision-making, narratives, or behavior
• Exposure to red teaming, competitive analysis, or alternative analysis techniques
• Prior military or intelligence community experience
• Joint Military Deception Course (JMTC) or related course certification

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
