Responsibilities
The Associate Research Scientist will:
- Lead and contribute to research on data security and privacy in federated machine learning systems applied to healthcare data
- Develop novel methods for privacy-preserving analysis of distributed clinical and biomedical datasets
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across biomedical informatics, computer science, governance, and ethics
- Mentor graduate students and contribute to their research development
- Participate in grant writing, publications, and dissemination of research findings
Candidates must have:
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, with a focus on security and privacy
- Familiarity with medical data, including electronic health records and translational bioinformatics datasets
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish in relevant venues
- Experience working with healthcare data
- Knowledge of regulatory and ethical considerations in patient data use
- Prior experience mentoring students or junior researchers
