The Job-setter Press Technician is responsible for operating metal forming machines including stamping presses. They oversee, set up, and operate stamping presses. Experience with automatic, transfer or progressive stamping presses is preferred. The job requires knowledge of job-related safety equipment, devices, PPE including knowledge of OSHA requirements and company policy.
Duties:
- Operate and maintain press machines to fabricate parts
- Set up and adjust tooling for different press operations
- Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers to verify dimensions
- Read and interpret blueprints for part assembly and production requirements
- Use hand tools to assemble and finish parts as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a press operator or in a similar manufacturing role preferred
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes and equipment
- Ability to operate cranes for material handling
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation
- Ability to use hand tools effectively and safely
