JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree in Hospital, Business, or Public Administration preferred. In addition, certification in SterileProcessing is required.
Required Skills
Minimum five years as a CST. Excellent leadership skills with a minimum of at least two years in a supervisoryor lead technician capacity.. Test and receive passing grade for CSPDT within one year of employment.
Must have Central Sterile Certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises personnel and performs all facets of central sterilization duties.
Ensures department is prepared for daily operations; removal of dirty linens and maintaining stock levels ofitems needed to insure sterilization.
Ensure Biological testing of all sterilizers.
Keep decontamination room operational.
Proper instrumentation of all trays and single instruments.
Fill requests for equipment rentals.
Assist in job training of aides.
Maintain through knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures.
Maintain call schedule.
Maintains personnel scheduling, evaluations, incident reports, and employee write ups.
Annual completion of World Health Organization hand hygiene education and training and its relationship to infection control in addition to physical demonstration and understanding of compliance monitoring.
Works closely with Infection Control and Risk Management departments.
Attend all required inservices and staff updates.
Performs any and all other job duties as assigned by supervisor for completion of job requirements.
