What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interpreter - PRN position at Colquitt Regional Medical Center?
Provides interpretation of Spanish/English language for patients, family members, staff, physicians and guests.
Translates written documents i.e. forms, signs, etc. into Spanish.
Visits all patients and families promptly on admission in the Emergency Department.
Gives appropriate and adequate feedback to the family.
Remains aware of the needs of the family (giving directions and explaining procedures).
Reports complaints or problems expressed by patient/family members to the charge nurse.
Demonstrates assistance during special times: i.e. staying with rape or abuse victims; staying with a family who has lost a patient and providing them what the need (ex. phone access, tissues, place to grieve).
Assists families with telephone calls/messages promptly and appropriately.
Experience
Required- Experience translating in healthcare setting preferred. Medical knowledge preferred.
