Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and productive place for our clients and their customers. The ideal candidate will bring a focus, discipline, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. This employer will train the cleaning technician the skills to train others, and expand our business by consistent results.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
- Handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely according to established safety procedures and protocols.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to ensure optimal cleanliness.
- Conduct floor care activities including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing surfaces to maintain high standards of appearance.
- Maintain sanitation standards in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas by disinfecting surfaces and replenishing supplies.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
- Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe working conditions.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial, government, military, non-profit or industrial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with custodial equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and cleaning tools, or ability to learn new tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely, mix chemicals according to instructions, while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards and facilities maintenance practices.
- Excellent manual handling skills with a focus on safe lifting practices for heavy objects or equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to industrial cleaning, chemical handling safety procedures, and general workplace safety standards.
- Ability to be coached to learn new methods and practices.
